The CGC Test is open to all dogs, regardless of breed or age, but it is recommended for those who have had some basic training. Mixed breeds are equally welcome to participate. The test requires dogs to demonstrate ten specific behaviors that are commonly expected from well-mannered pets. Preparation is crucial to success in the CGC Test. Training should focus on obedience, socialization, and confidence-building exercises. Obedience classes, practicing commands regularly, and exposing your dog to a variety of environments and scenarios can significantly enhance their preparedness. Trick Dog Testing will also be offered based on the availability of test slots.
