Harborview School Building
Open to the public for $100.00 for 4 one-hour sessions.
This class introduces the dog and handler to basic manners skills, allowing dogs and handlers to gain confidence and experience working together.
The class will address: Heeling, loose leash walking, sit, and stay commands. We will work on increasing distance from the dog as well as recalls. The class includes learning basic obedience exercises such as: Serpentine Loop 3 Cones, Sit for Exam, and Down-Stay.
All exercises are performed on a six-foot leash. Handlers are permitted to talk to, praise, and give extra commands to their dogs during and between exercises.
Requirements - 6-foot leash and plenty of "high value treats". Your dog's kibble may be expensive, but it's not a high-value treat. Also, bring a small mat or pad, or even a towel for your dog to sit on. Water and a dish are encouraged.
Prerequisites: This class is not appropriate for reactive dogs and those with excessive barking. Safety for everyone is important as we will be working in close proximity to other dogs and handlers.
Dates: Thursdays from 1/22 - 2/12
