AKC Scent Work Online Class - Apr 2023

Instructor and scent nose AKC judge, Deb Gillis will introduce handlers on how to start introducing scent to their dogs. There will be 4 classes via zoom for one hour starting in April. In July, Judge Deb Gillis will come to Juneau for a hands on Scent nose seminar with both working and auditing spots that handlers can participate in for an additional fee. The seminar is optional. Any breed of dog can participate including mixed breeds of any age 6 months or older. In Scent nose work, dogs search for cotton swabs saturated with the essential oil of Birch to start out. The cotton swabs are hidden out of sight in a pre-determined search area, and the dog has to find them.
